I was thinking the other day about what it was like to work a job all week and then spend my time off working in the yard or going fishing or playing golf, you know, a life that is "working for the weekend". I know, it's my inner 80's rock star coming out. I watch people on facebook, what they do with their lives and what they do for fun and I wonder is that all there is to their lives? It's true that for moments going to the beach and enjoying a hobby is awesome and Michelle & I try to do that as much as we can but... it's not our driving purpose in life. In fact every time I find myself living mainly for those things I always have this growing emptyness inside.
I love today's verse Ephesians 2:10 "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." God has alwas had a plan for your life. Before you were born He choose you to live life for Him... that's where true fulfillment comes from.
So even when I'm right in the middle of a day at the beach,a get together on the back deck grilling out, or band practice on Tuesday night, God's purpose and plans are central in my heart. I live in such a way that the main purpose of my life is to doing His will... that makes me content and satisfied.

Bill: I'm just hanging around the edges, but living our purpose is what real life is all about. Hoping to more of you and your post as time goes on. I really liked the rc cars stuff. May we continue to acknowledge and confess the truth that has found us.

I agree with what you said and thanks for posting. I sometimes dred work just because there are some things I dislike about it but for the most part, I'm a happier person when I'm working and have a "purpose".
