Dream Vacation

So here's what I'm doing right now. Sittin in that chair watching those waves dreamin about nothin as I listen to some tunes. Just thought I'd share that with you guys.

Vacation

We are here at Topsail island and everybody is on vacation. When you go it has to be special so this is what Buddy got for his special treat... A new bone!

Acts 1

Here's how this is going to work for those of you who are reading the book of Acts with me.  We all read the chapter of the day and then I will comment on what God shows me and then you can post a comment about what you got.  Sharing our nuggets again, YEAH!!!!

Acts 1:4 - "Once when He was eating with them, He commanded them, "Do not leave Jerusalem until the Father sends you the gift He promised, as I told you before, John baptized with water, but in just a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit."

The thing that stuck out to me today was this, Jesus fully expects His people to "Go".  "Do not leave Jerusalem until..." is almost like He's saying "now alright boys, I know your anxious to get on with the task I've given you but wait until the power to do it comes first."

Jesus always expects us to GO and the power that the Holy Spirit gives is for that end.  Reminds me of what He told them earlier, "Greater works than these, you will do."  It was never intended that the Holy Spirit would be poured out so that I could have an experience with God for my self, I have the gift of the Holy Spirit so that the world would see Christ in me and I would have the power of God to complete the assignment He has given me.  Remember this, the church doesn't exist for itself, it exists for the world.

New Challenge!

OK, did you make it through the 30 Day challenge with me?  I'm still reading my proverb everyday and I hope you are too.  I want to invite you to my next Challenge - The Book of ACTS!  Starting Monday September 15th join me in reading a chapter a day in acts and then we can talk about what it means to us here on my site.  So are you in?  let me know.

Mini Me!

Here's a great beginner class at the new track were putting together, Mini Coopers!  These cars are a blast and they're a great way to get started in the hobby.  Kids, adults, teens, everybody can have some fun.

The base Kit costs about $103.00 (Made by Tamiya) and you will need to buy your batteries, a radio and a battery charger.  I am working on putting a base kit together with everything and trying to do it for around $250.00.  If your interested then shoot me an email.  Here's some picks of the kit.

I already have four kits bought and two others reserved, this will make 6 racers already.  We could get at least 10 per heat to race and if we got more we could put them altogether for one really big "MINI" race.

You have to assemble the kits and we're going to get together as a group to build them and paint the bodies.   It's going to be a blast.

We're going to be running in the parking lot Saturday after the outreach event for anyone who wants to check out our Vintage Trans Am cars.  I don't think we'll have too many Mini's built by then but who knows, I'm pretty anxious.

So did everybody enjoy your holiday?  Man I sure did.  It was awesome to do some racing in the parking lot!  Unfortunately I took a day off from everything including blogging so I got some catching up to do here.  I'm going to post the last three days here on this post.  Oh and by the way we are rounding the last turn of the 30 day challenge, it ends on September the 4th.  How have you been doing?  I know for me I'm not going to stop so I'm hoping that you'll do the same.  Well here we go.

Proverbs 30:10 - "Never slander a worker to the employer, or the person will curse you and you will pay for it."

That's like mind your own business.  I was always told that working is like this 10% of me doing what I'm supposed to do and 90% of me letting others be responsible for what they are supposed to do.  That's some good nuggets.

Proverbs 1:28-29 - "When they cry for help, I will not answer.  Though they anxiously search for me, they will not find me.  For they hated knowledge and chose not to fear the Lord."

WOW!!!!!  I have found myself many times in life right in the middle of that verse.  I am learning and still need instruction on how to fear the Lord.  The biggest part of this verse to me is the whole "choice" factor.  It's about choosing to fear the Lord.  I think that choice is moment to moment.

Proverb 2:3-5 - "Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding.  Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures.  Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord, and you will gain knowledge of God."

There it is, this constant searching for wisdom will produce the fear of the Lord in our lives.  That's what this 30 Day Challenge has been about, finding God, and that is a search for a life time.
